Glow vs. Gloss

What is the difference between a glowy look and a glossy look, is there even a difference?

Yes, there's actually a big difference between the two looks and here we will talk about those differences and how to achieve both looks. I recently learned there was a difference by a very talented makeup artist named Kimberley Bosso. I went in for a trial run with her and she asked for a soft glossy look. Since at the time I was unaware of a difference I thought ok, I got this I specialize in the glow! Well I sure did get that glow and then was schooled that she wanted a gloss and she showed me exactly how to achieve it. The difference is, glowy is a dry shimmery look achieved with highlighters. A glossy look is similar to what your skin would look like if you were on a humid island or if you just finished a really good bedroom session with your lover... get it ;) So, it's more of a dewey wet look. Which when you think about it is a big difference. Both looks are amazing and I am glad I know how to achieve a glossy look now all thanks to Kimberley Bosso!

How to glow

There are many different ways but here are a few:

1. You can mix illuminating drops in with your foundation.

2. You can use illuminating drops after applying foundation and place the drops on cheek bones, bridge of nose, chin, qupids bow.

3. Lastly and most importantly the last touch before your makeup is done you can use highlighting powder on your cheek bones, bridge of nose, qupids bow, chin, also above brows.

That is how you can achieve a good glowy look you can do one step, two steps or all three and be glowed up!

Now for the Glossy (Dewey Look)

As mentioned above there are also many ways to achieve the glossy look, I will give you a couple:

1. Similar to the glow you can mix skin oils such as argon oil, Farsali oil, or dry oil with your foundation and apply to face and do not cover complete face with powder just lightly dust the t zone.

2. Or you can complete your full makeup look and dab any of the oils mentioned above with your fingers on to the face carefully not to smear or remove makeup.
